Sexual health charity THT is celebrating after a charity auction in which a Tracey Emin artwork brought £30,000 for their funds.
The artwork, How many times do I say I love you, was created from a giant bottle of Champagne – a Nebuchadnezzar, which originally contained 15 litres of bubbly.
Tracey Emin was invited by auctioneers Christie’s and Champagne producer Piper-Heidsieck to turn a Nebuchadnezzar into a work of art to be auctioned to support her charity of choice – and she decided to donated all the proceeds to Terrence Higgins Trust.
Sir Nick Partridge, Chief Executive at Terrence Higgins Trust, said: ‘The funds raised from the sale of this stunning artwork will help us be there for people who are in desperate need. Tracey is a long-time supporter of our charity, and we are immensely grateful for everything she has done, and continues to do, to help improve the lives of people with HIV.’
Aye right Sir Nick, more like help keep the gravy train on track and bump up your ridiculous salary while the Hiv poor are getting worse off via Atos.
