Over the past few weeks, the response to Russia’s anti gay laws has gone global, as we wrote just yesterday.

The chances of persuading Putin or any of the Russian lawmakers to change the law seems slim, but that doesn’t mean our efforts are going unnoticed, as a photo gallery on VK – eastern Europe’s answer to Facebook – shows.

Across almost 200 photos, people from across the country painted rainbow coloured signs in Russian and various other languages reading: ‘Thank you for your support. From Russia with love.’

As you scroll through the photos, you can see some of the users were even willing to get themselves into trouble to get their photos – one shows a cheeky grin at the camera as a group is questioned by police.

You can ask your MP to get the Prime Minister to continue to put pressure on Putin and his government via the LobbyForRussia.org site.
