A 69 year old man has been stabbed to death in broad daylight in Queens, New York, after he is alleged to have blown a kiss at a man.

The suspect, who was arrested and is now facing charges of second degree murder, is reported as having told police that he made a pass at him, and touched himself. But the victim’s wife said he was merely blowing smoke – with reports saying that the alleged murderer, 22 year old Steven Torres, had used a similar excuse when he committed a another stabbing prior to this incident.

Torres was chased by witnesses for some 500m, catching and detaining him before police arrived. Police said Torres is also charged with assault as a hate crime for stabbing a different man the previous week on the Lower East Side.

Ever Orozco is the latest victim in a long line of deadly hate crimes in the New York, as So So Gay reported recently with a report that such crimes are set to double by the end of the year.

‘There was a lot of screaming, and all I could see was the guy was stabbing him – stabbing him and stabbing him,’ Eddie De Jesus told NBC New York.
