Winter Pride is coming to the UK for the first time, with a huge party and community stalls at London’s Tobacco Dock on 8 February. Organisers say it will be a celebration of LGBT arts and culture, embracing equality, diversity and inclusivity, and the fostering of mutual respect between all demographic groups, irrespective of background, race, religion, gender and, of course, sexuality.

Popstarz, One Love, Work, MINT, Exilio, Bear Necessity, East Bloc, Gaydio, g3 magazine, Out In The City magazine and Gaydar are all involved, with each underground vault of the dock building holding either entertainment, community or retail stalls.

£1 from every ticket sale goes to the Terrence Higgins Trust and the proceeds of a raffle to Stonewall, while the community vault spaces are free to charitable organisations. Each year, the organisers have committed to reporting how each of the good causes have been helped.

In addition, the Winter Pride UK Awards, which will be hosted by celebrity Jodie Harsh, include a new art award targeted at both emerging and established artists with a cash prize of £1,000 for the winner. A preview exhibition of the shortlisted finalists will take place at Chart gallery in Chelsea from 3-5 February.
