The organisers of the Diversity Careers Show say up to 1,000 new jobs and apprenticeship opportunities are set to be created when it returns to London on Friday.

The careers showcase, taking place on 17-18 October 2014, at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, will reach out to candidates looking for employers who want to invest in a diverse and inclusive workforce. The event is aimed at both recent graduates and people already in employment, but will also include a day dedicated to young people seeking apprenticeship opportunities.

Companies will also be on hand to offer practical advice and information for jobseekers. Headline sponsor Société Générale and supporting sponsors BP, Google and the RAF will all have a strong presence at what has become the UK’s biggest diversity and inclusivity careers event. Many other world-leading companies like Google, Dell, Tesco, Sky, Virgin Media and the Telegraph Group are also among the exhibitors committed to helping attendees get jobs.

Event organiser Sarah Garrett, Director of Square Peg Media, said: ‘Unemployment rates are at their lowest since the Diversity Careers Show began. It’s great to see so many employers who want to invest in an inclusive workplace. We’ve seen some great success stories over the years and aim to continue matching top employers with the best candidates.

‘The Diversity Careers Show is a fantastic opportunity for people to meet potential new employers, have their career horizons expanded, learn new skills, and talk to career experts.’

From one-on-one advice in the CV Clinic, to vocational workshops, the Diversity Career Show aims to give jobseekers everything they could need to make their mark as a candidate in the job-seeking world.

The show is free to attend and will run between 10am and 5pm on Friday 17 October. The apprenticeship event will take place on Saturday 18 October.
