Dalston Superstore, TEDxHackney and Culture Device are to present a day of talks on a subject close to our hearts: the current anti-LGBT atrocities being committed in Russia.

Says spokesperson Rachael Williams: ‘With the Winter Olympics rapidly approaching and potentially putting both fans and athletes in real personal danger, now is the time for action.’

‘As the host borough for the Olympics last year, Hackney is an ideal place for discussions on this subject to take place.’

A range of influential speakers, activists and artists will discuss the crisis, talk about how to raise awareness and try to work out where the solution might lie.

Speakers confirmed include

  • Jonny Woo
  • Angela Mason
  • Bruce La Bruce
  • Ursula Martinez
  • Christopher Bryant of Polari Magazine
  • Owen Jones
  • Oreet Ashery

  • Paola Revenioti (The Queer Archive)
